Progress made in the summer term in the ecogarden
A new shed, our first crop growth and lots of 'watering' of the students during Thursday Activities. A good term!
Garden Plans
It might be Half Term but the garden show must go on! Using software from the excellent Kitchen Gardens International website a plan for the EcoGarden has been put together using data on the growing periods of various crops to ensure our success - click the pictures and links to find out more....
The EcoGarden
Environmental Science students have been allocated a large strip of land that was once part of Paull's House garden.
The focus is to create a functional. attractive and ecofriendly garden for the students, by the students. Here we plan to grow a range of vegetables, consider the science of argriculture and spend some time outdoors contributing to the biodiversity of our school grounds and learning about the environment.
If you have any ideas to contribute on designing, building and maintaining the garden, your comments would be welcomed on the EcoGarden Blog

why not start your own garden at home? - check out the bbc gardening page for some hints and tops
A small patch of land can provide the space needed to grow a surprising amount of produce. Why not give it a go yourself at home and add some home-grown organic goodies to your diet?

How can we grow seedlings without a greenhouse?
What will thrive in the conditions we can provide?
What will we do with our produce?

How much is it going to cost?
How wide do they need to be - will we need space for a wheelbarrow?
