Please post any suggestions you have for wet / cold weather activites we can be doing during the cold weat January /  February weather. The ground is too hard and cold for planting and the weather too chilly, with the dark afternoons making outdoor work impossible at this time of year. We need to be thinking about eco-friendly or EcoSchools relevent things we can be doing during this time - post your ideas below.

I think that it may be a good idea to plan what we are going to do with each of our beds. For example we could decide on which plants to grow at different times of the year and where we will grow them.

I agree - we need to work out what we are going to plant and what will go into each bed. Ideally we need to ensure that we are harvesting regularly and that we are not planting species that will want harvesting during the summer holidays. This is going to be difficult as we are out of school for the whole of July and August - perhaps crops that harvest in September would be a nice idea so that we can do this as soon as we return in the new Academic year.

Keep the ideas coming!

I think we should continue to work on implementing some of the idea's from the action plan. These could be simple things like reminding people to turn off lights and putting up posters. As well as looking into ideas like fitting water saving devices to the toilets, fitting draught excluders to doors and fitting low energy light bulbs around school.

We are also looking into charities to support by fundraising for them. If anyone has any more idea's of good causes to support or ways we can raise money please let us know.
