Some Scientists argue that the millions spent yearly to preserve the Giant Panda - an animal that refuses to breed and tries to survive on an ever dwindling bamboo food source despite its poor nutritional benefits - is no longer worth the effort, that they are allowing themselves to become extinct and that these huge funds would be better spent on other species.
