Nuclear power is the superoir power source. Fossil fuels have supplied the main bulk of power to the world, but are being used up at an alarming rate and will be gone very soon. Nuclear power is not renewable but since a handful of uranium fuel can create as much power as many tonnes of coal it will last much longer. Renewable energy may be pollutant/waste free but are highly inefficient and will not power the world alone. A line of wind turbines from london to the southern shore can only make as much power as a single coal power station! Nuclear power (fission based, using heat from radioactive decay) creates dangerous waste. However the newest form of nuclear energy being developed (fusion based, concentrating on fusing hydrogen atoms together and creating energy, which mimicks the suns way of creating energy.) is extremley powerful, non pollutant, and can potentally use seawater as nuclear fuel! The londons aquariums water supply would be enough to power london itself for a long time. More should go into fusion development, which will be humanitys way of creating a sun on earth and creating immense amounts of power. However, it could be used to make weapons 100's times more powerful than current nuclear bombs... anyway, nuclear is the way to go, and the sooner fusion is ready the better!

We have actualy managed to build functioning nuclear fusion plants. I believe there is even one here in Britain, in Oxfordshire. The problem is that the energy we put in to cause the fusion reaction is currently greater than the energy we get out.
